Costume<\/h1><\/div>

The costume designer is responsible for the costumes that will be worn by the performers during the production. They work to realize the vision and creative guidelines established by the director and, if applicable, the costume creator or the producer or one of their representatives.<\/p>\n

More specifically (but without limiting the foregoing), the costume designer performs, non-exclusively, most or all of the following tasks:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • conducts research and makes suggestions (especially in the form of images or sketches) to production managers to determine the style of costumes required for the production, all within the financial framework set by the producer;<\/li>\n
  • buys, rents, designs, manufactures, etc., the costumes worn by the performers, in accordance with the financial framework set by the producer;<\/li>\n
  • ensures the handling, maintenance, cleaning, and storage of costumes required for the production;<\/li>\n
  • if necessary, they perform certain administrative tasks related to costume management for the production and communicates with casting agents;<\/li>\n
  • during recording, they may assist performers in dressing and make certain adjustments, if required. In addition to the tasks mentioned above, the costume designer may be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of the wardrobe team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The assistant costume designer works under the supervision of the costume designer or, if applicable, the head costume designer and performs, at the request of their supervisor, various tasks related to costumes used in the production.<\/p>\n<\/div>
